27 May -30 May 2007 Istanbul

Self Guided tour of Istanbul. Hotel and self guided tour information provided are based on our own personal experiences in Istanbul.  Allow  2 full days touring if possible.Depart Istanbul 30 May on Turkish Airlines 07:05 flight to Dalaman Airport for pick-up  at Dalaman Airport 08:45 for Cappadocia Optional Tour.

30 May -2 June 2007 Cappadocia 4 Day Organized Tour Itinerary

(This tour must be booked in advance)

Day 1- May 30 

Arrival at Dalaman Airport. Meet the tour guide and Jean at 08:45. Drive to Cappadocia, the land of fairy chimneys. Tea break on the way. Arrive in Cappadocia late in the evening.   

Day 2- May 31 

A full day Cappadocia is waiting for you! After Breakfast, visit Goreme Open Air Museum, Avanos, Zelve Open Air Museum, Pasabagi, and Red Valley, where you can see fairy chimneys in the sunset. Return to your hotel. Dinner at hotel.
For those who want to continue to enjoy Cappadocia at night, there is an optional Turkish Night tour including a Whirling Dervish performance and Turkish folk dancing.  

Day 3 - June 1

In the early morning there is an optional balloon tour, where you can experience floating through volcanic valleys, fairy chimneys, and caves with the sunrise over Cappadocia. Your guide will give you further information.

Another full day in Cappadocia after breakfast. Visit the underground cities. After that visit the traditional carpet weaving schools, where you can see the art of carpet weaving process, one of the most ancient crafts in Turkey. After the carpet village, drive to Ihlara Valley. It was the first settlement of the early Christians escaping from the Roman soldiers.  You will see their rock houses and temples hidden in the valley. Return to your hotel. Dinner at hotel.
You may have optional Turkish night tour or balloon tour.

Day 4- June 2 

After Breakfast, leave the hotel. Drive to Konya. Two Tea Breaks on the way. Visit Mevlana Museum, the green-domed mausoleum of Sufi mystic and poet Mevlana (1207-1273). Visit ritual hall (semahane), dervish cells and kitchens in addition to numerous other tombs and cemeteries. On the way visit the Agzıkarahan Caravanserai, used as a way-station for the camel caravans on the Silk Route between Europe and Asia. Arrive in Marmaris late in the evening.

4 June 2007 Ephesus Tour Itinerary

You will be picked up early in the morning ( at 7:00 ) from the marina. After an hour drive you will have breakfast. On the way there will also be a tea break at 10:30.
The tour begins ( at 11:30 ) by visiting the remains of the Artemis Temple, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Afterwards, it proceeds to the spectacular main site of Ephesus, the most complete ancient city excavated. The Celsius Library, Agora, Theater, Odeon, Trajan Fountain, Domitianus Temple and Roman Latrines are some of the highlights surviving among the ruins. Following a lunch break ( at 14:00 ), visit the House of Virgin Mary; where she spent her final days.
After that, drive to Şirince (Greek) village ( at 16:00 ), popular with its wine and hand crafts. Visit the  pottery and ceramic factory (optional) (at 17:00) Tea break on the way back. You will arrive to Marmaris.( at 20:30 )

12June 2007 Myra-Demre Tour Itinerary 

You will be picked up from meeting point in Kekova ( at 9:30 ). After an hour drive, you will visit the ruins of  Myra. You will have around one hour to spent there. Then visit St.Nicholas Church. Lunch in Demre. After lunch one hour free time to explore Demre. Drive back. You will arrive Kekova at about 16:00.
* The tour includes lunch, entrance fees, professional English speaking guide, transfers and bus **travel insurance. Drinks in the lunch are extras.
